Step-by-step Guide
- Open your web browser and go to cibc.com/activate
- On the homepage, click on the sign-in option for online banking
- Enter your username and password to log in to your CIBC account
- If you are a new user, complete the registration process first
- After logging in, you may be asked to verify your identity with a code sent to your phone or email
- Enter the verification code in the required field and continue
- Once inside your account dashboard, look for your newly issued credit card
- Click on the credit card to open its details
- Find and select the “Activate Card” option
- Enter your credit card number carefully
- Provide the card expiry date as shown on your card
- Enter the CVV (security code) from the back of your card
- Review all the details you entered to make sure they are correct
- Click on the “Submit” or “Activate” button
- Wait a few seconds for the system to process your request
- A confirmation message will appear showing your card is activated
- Your credit card is now ready for use for online and offline transactions
